1. You will never feel ready
No one will ever feel 100% about an opportunity. You just learn to tolerate the feel ins of awkwardness that come with stepping out of your comfort zone when a new opportunity arises.
2. There are times to keep your mouth closed
There are times when it is not necessary for you to chime in on everything person who is spilling out nonsense. Learn when to be involved and when not to get involved. Better to avoid stupid drama.
3. You can’t change anyone’s behavior or opinion
Everyone is different and people are complex. We all gain different beliefs throughout our lifetimes. Therefor it is important to know that people aren’t going to change if or when you want them to. People only change when they decide they want to change. You have to realize that and focus on people who care about your beliefs, ideas, and visions.
4. Never mistake someones struggles with moral failure
It is extremely important to take the time to get to know someone and understand their struggles. Instead of making broad judgments, learn what led them to their struggles and who they are. Everyone is capable of making mistakes.
5. The world doesn’t owe you a single thing
You have to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Do not be that person who is inflated with a sense of entitlement.
6. Invest in your most important relationships
You’re friends, spouse, family, and mentors are the most important factors in your happiness. Make sure you choose them wisely. Keep yourself around those who lift you up and celebrate your successes. Tell those people often how much they mean to you.
7. Seek wisdom
Your wisdom comes from the mistakes you’ve made and learned from as well as learning new skills until the day you die. The people who take learning, and skills development into consideration are those who will be our future leaders.
