Woman-raising-arms

Everyone has beauty! It’s just that not everyone sees it in themselves. Body issues and self-esteem get the best of us and it gets tangled up with the expectations we have put on ourselves. We look at the media and all we see are these models who weigh 23% less than the average sized women and think that’s what we need to look like. In all reality, those models are actually pretty close to meeting the clinical criteria for anorexia. What needs to happen is for all women to realize that they are beautiful no matter what. Be happy in your own skin and not someone else’s. Here are a few things that can help you feel better about your body.

Change your priorities if you spend time obsessing
67% of women obsess about their appearances over things like their finances and career. Images of impossible ideals are everywhere you go so it may seem impossible to escape but if you change your priorities and just start eating nutritious foods and regularly exercise to get yourself feeling better.

Spend more time doing what you love and not looking in the mirror
When you are looking in the mirror and criticizing everything you think is wrong with you, it just puts a damper on your mood. Instead spend time doing things that you love that will make you happy. You will feel much better and worry a lot less.

Compliment yourself
Quit criticizing yourself and instead talk yourself up. When you continually talk negative about yourself it just makes you feel worse and worse about yourself. Count your blessings and praise yourself because you are beautiful.

Remind yourself that you are not a model
Love yourself! That is the most important advice a woman can get and give to her daughters.

Treat your body like a temple
If you are feeling badly about your body, recommit to being kind to it. Do things like dance, eat food that makes you feel good, laugh more, exercise a bit, etc. This will immediately make you feel better about yourself and distract you from focusing in on your flaws.
