It may be hard to lose all the baby weight and get back to the lean and toned body back after having a baby but it’s not impossible. Here are some tips to take when beginning your process of recovery.

This is one of the most important things to focus on. Yes, babies will take up a lot of your time and energy but it’s important not to resort to junk food. Post baby is an extremely important time to watch what you eat and make sure you are getting all the right nutrients to empower a healthy recovery and to keep your baby healthy while breast feeding. Make sure you are consuming lots of vegetables and lean protein like chicken breasts and turkey. Try to avoid foods with added sugar or processed carbs at all costs.

Do what you think is fun
Fitness shouldn’t be a drag. It should be fun for you. Yes, we workout because it is good for our bodies and minds but instead of making it a task, make it entertaining. Find the right exercise that gets you excited to workout. If you hate cardio, there are alternatives. Once you find exercises that you think are fun, it won’t feel so much like a chore.

Do it at your own pace
You will most likely lose some conditioning during the last months of pregnancy so it will probably be hard to participate in any challenging workouts. To begin just watch what you eat and keep active throughout the day. You will be able to easily build up your conditioning again. Be sure you listen to your body because only you know your body best. Challenge yourself but do it at a reasonable pace.

Don’t rush
You may see celebrities in the media losing their baby weight in just weeks, but do not feel the need to be pressured into rushing it. You have to make sure that you don’t do anything that might result in injury. You have plenty of time to get your body back so progress at your own pace. Be sure to also get the green light from your doctor to begin working out as well.
