How to avoid tanning this summer

The summer is almost her and so are the sweltering days. While the AC may give you temporary relief, we all know how hard it is to step out in summer thanks to the heat, hot winds and unnecessary tanning. Tanning is the darkening of skin that is exposed to the sun for a long time. It is a natural process the body uses to protect the body against the sun.

If this summer you want to save your skin from tanning, we have a few useful tips.

Use high SPF

Do not step out into the sun without putting loads of sunscreen on all the exposed parts of the body. Sunscreen is the best way to avoid getting tanned. Invest in a high-SPF sunscreen and make sure you carry it with you whenever and wherever you can.

Use natural face packs

Your skin needs extra care during the summer months. Make sure you opt for natural products instead of over-the-counter products that can harm your skin. Try putting some milk and papaya pack with a few drops of lemon, aloe vera gel and lavender oil. Apply this on your skin and wash it off after some time. See the result for yourself!

Exfoliate

Exfoliation is the key to great skin. Use a gentle scrub to remove all the dead cells from your face. However, make sure the scrub suits your skin type as harsh scrubs can do more harm than good. You can also make a gentle sugar and honey scrub at home and it will definitely help you get rid of that tan.

Always use an umbrella

While it may be a hassle to carry around an umbrella, if you travel to office or other places by public transport, an umbrella is a must. It not only saves you from tanning but helps you stay away from the harmful UV rays of the sun.

Other than these, make sure you drink enough water and use scarves whenever possible.
