The billionaire sparked criticism after claiming ‘nobody wants to work these days’

Kim Kardashian is catching heat for suggesting that women are lazy and that they need to get up and work if they want to make it in business. The reality star was promoting her family’s new Hulu show when she offered some blunt advice for businesswomen, “get your f—ing a—up and work.” Her comments were immediately slammed for being tone-deaf and “ridiculously rude.”

Kim dropped the pearls of wisdom during a recent interview with Variety, alongside sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian and their mother, Kris Jenner. The Kardashian-Jenner clan was promoting their new show, The Kardashians, and discussing their business ventures when they decided to offer up some tips to women looking to succeed in business.

“I have the best advice for women in business,” Kim suggests. “Get your f–king ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”

Kourtney chimed in and said, “That’s so true.”

But Kim wasn’t done offering businesswomen the keys to the mint, “You have to surround yourself with people that want to work. Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do because you have one life. No toxic work environments and show up and do the work.” Kim proffered.

While Kim might have thought she was being candid, many on social media thought her comments lacked awareness and called her out for being born into a wealthy family. An excerpt from the interview was posted to the Variety Twitter page and quickly gathered steam. The number of quote tweets, most of them negative, quickly outnumbered the number of likes.

Fans pointed out that Kim’s father was wealthy and famous and noted that the reality star grew up in Beverly Hills. Others pointed out that Kim was sued last year for violating labor laws. Seven former employees filed a suit against the reality star for allegedly withholding wages, refusing to pay overtime, and not giving them meal breaks.

It’s not the first time Kim has been criticized and likely not the last. Kim admitted in the interview that with fame and success comes a lot of hate, and “ignoring it is all part of the process.”

The SKIMS mogul finished the interview by saying that she’s simply being “factual” and that “with all respect, and with love, I’m not, like, being a b—h.”
