How to Prevent Weight Gain While Working From the Office

In the video shared by Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, she mentions three simple ways in which you can prevent weight gain while working from the office.

1. Eat Breakfast Before Leaving Home

Nutritionist Diwekar suggests people should have their breakfast in the morning before leaving for work. This will beat your sugar craving post-meal or later in the day.

2. Avoid Starting Your Day in the Office With a Stimulant

Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar suggests not starting your day with a stimulant like chai, coffee, or even a cigarette. Instead, opt for nariyal pani, sherbet, or fruit. This will ensure that you don’t get the afternoon slump, sluggishness, and bloating in the second half of the day.

3. Have a Wholesome Snack Between 4 to 6 PM

Nutritionist Diwekar suggests you should have a wholesome snack like peanuts, mango, banana, mathri, etc., in the 4-6 pm window. This would ensure you have a light dinner and sound sleep.

Low-Calorie Snacks to Carry to the Office

Work-from-office lifestyle can become sedentary after a while. This could result in you gaining a lot of weight in much less time. However, you can avoid this by keeping tabs on your diet. Looking for some low-calorie snacks to munch on in the office? Here are five easy options.

1. Masala Makhana

Gone are the days when people munched plain makhanas. Masala makhana is here to amp up your health game. All you have to do is roast your makhanas in ghee and spices. Add some honey on top of it to balance the taste, and it’s done!

2. Lemon Pepper Popcorn

High in fiber and low in calories, popcorn makes for an amazing healthy snack. With this flavor, you can take your taste buds on a rollercoaster journey… even when you are working from the office! To maintain its health benefits, add less butter and salt to the popcorn but flavor it with lemon and black pepper later.

3. Sprout Salad

Full of nutrients, sprouts salad is easy to prepare and super delicious. All you have to do is wait for mung beans to sprout and then add cucumber, carrots, and other vegetables of your choice to it.

4. Vegetable Idli

Easy to make and easier to carry, vegetable idli is one of the best low-calorie snack options you can eat during office hours. Add veggies of your choice and pair idli with chutney or ketchup of your choice.

5. Trail Mix

Make yourself a wholesome snack with a mixture of nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and granola. The variety of flavours and textures will make it a delight for your taste buds while keeping your guilt and calories at bay.
